This is an attractive 6 mile long walk around Aylsham, taking in the town and the varied countryside to the south-west and north. The route is waymarked outside the town.

From the car park we turned right into Mill Road. At the T-junction we went left, then left again by the marker sign in a hedge along a track. We continued along the path as it narrowed and became tree-lined, then went along the edge of a field.

Only one path was not satisfactory on an otherwise most enjoyable six-and-a-half mile walk, for which we parked in the free Station Road car park in Aylsham, at the far end which belongs to Broadland District Council.

Marriott's Way is a peaceful and secluded walk along the former railway line between Hellesdon and Aylsham. It passes through typical lowland fields, woods and water meadows near to the River Wensum, then on to the higher and drier lands beyond Reepham.

The village of Buxton is located 4 km south east of the market town of Aylsham, Norfolk. The route is located off Lion Road which runs between the villages of Buxton and Brampton. This bridleway forms part of a circular route around the village of Buxton.

Part of the route lies adjacent to a minor road, and another part travels down a farm track. Access onto the path is at two locations where the path joins the minor road just to the North of Rippon Hall.

Weavers' Way is a long distance footpath running for 61 miles between Cromer and Great Yarmouth. It is named after the once important weaving industry, which flourished in the Middle Ages around North Walsham.

This permissive access provides a short walk along the northern perimeter of Wood Farm. To the west, the path borders Burnt Plantation, containing a mixture of coniferous trees. Deer, the most common being Muntjack, may be seen in this area.
