Erected at the end of the 14th century a truly big Perpendicular decorated Church, that dwarfs the small village of Cawston. The tower stands at 120 feet. A deeply moulded doorway with a wodehouse or wild man and a dragon.

There is a record of a priest for Aylsham in 1066 with the Saxon name of Brithric. The current church was started about 1270 during the decorated period. John of Gaunt who owned Aylsham is credited with the building of the church.
